Zambia captain Barbra Banda scored twice as Orlando Pride surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Kansas City Current in the NWSL on Friday night.
Banda put Orlando in front shortly before half-time, producing an impressive finish from distance after Ally Lemos picked her out with a lofted pass.
The 26-year-old doubled the Pride’s advantage five minutes after the restart, racing down the left before cutting inside and calmly slotting a low finish into the near corner.
It was Banda’s 15th and 16th goals of the season, extending her own Orlando single-season scoring record.
However, the Pride’s advantage lasted just three minutes.
Temwa Chawinga pulled one back for Kansas City in the 53rd minute before Elizabeth Bell completed the comeback three minutes later, reacting quickest to a loose ball following a corner to level the contest.
The draw leaves Orlando with a 9-11-3 record and 30 points as they continue their push for a third consecutive NWSL play-off appearance.
For Banda, it was another landmark performance in an increasingly prolific season.
Her brace made her only the fourth player in NWSL history to score at least 16 goals in a single season. She also became one of just three players, alongside Sophia Wilson and Megan Rapinoe, to record 10 or more multi-goal games for the same club.
The two-goal display was Banda’s fourth brace of the 2026 campaign and the ninth of her NWSL career.
Banda’s second goal was set up by Hailie Mace, who registered her first goal contribution for Orlando since joining the club. Lemos, meanwhile, provided her third assist of the season with the opening goal.
The result also extended Orlando’s unbeaten record against Kansas City at CPKC Stadium to three matches.
Marta returned to the Pride side for the first time since 31 July, while Haley McCutcheon made her 99th regular-season appearance for the club.
Orlando will return home next Saturday, when they host Portland Thorns at Inter&Co Stadium as they continue their bid to secure another play-off place.
