Banda lone strike sends Orlando Pride top of NWSL table

Copper Queens striker Barbra Banda scored the only goal of the game as Orlando Pride saw off Racing Louisville in a NWSL regular season encounter.

Banda headed in Emily Sams’ cross in the 17th minute with a powerful header at the far post to open the scores.

The goal proved to be the decider as Pride held on to win the match 1-0 at the Inter & Co Stadium.

The win means Orlando extended its winning streak to five games, matching the Club record.

The Seb Hines coached side have now gone top of the NWSL log table with eighteen points from eight games.

The Pride are also now off to their best start in Club history, going eight straight games unbeaten and are the first NWSL team to go unbeaten in its first eight matches since North Carolina in 2018.

The Zambian international’s four goals, which lead the Club, along with her two assists gives her six goal contributions in the last three matches.
