Bafana Bafana v Chipolopolo Preview: Kondwani to partner Sunzu

Thirteen days to go before the Orange CAF 2015 African Cup of Nations kickoff in Equatorial Guinea, a host of qualified African countries are busy shaping up for the tournament with friendly matches.

Southern Africa’s representatives, Zambia and South Africa will battle it out at Orlando Stadium this afternoon.

Though it is a friendly match, bragging rights are at stake and both sides will be going for a win. Despite Bafana Bafana being rejuvenated under Shakes Mashaba, the Chipolopolo Boys remain the favourites.

While Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has already named his line up, his Zambian counter part is still tight limped though the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal that Zesco United midfielder Kondwani Mtonga will partner former captain Stopilla Sunzu in central defence.

In what looks like a 4-4-1-1 formation on paper, Zanaco winger Rodrick Kabwe will continue his audition at left back in the absence of Emmanuel Mbola, who is set to arrive today while Donashamo Malama continues at right back ahead of Davies Nkausu.

Nathan Sinkala is expected to play 90 minutes in midfield but it is that combination of trinity Lubambo Musonda, Chisamba Lungu and Rainford Kalaba that should provide the threat going forward.

The match will be live on SABC and StarTV with kickoff @ 3 pm

Though the hardworking Given Singuluma is earmarked to play in the hole behind Emmanuel Mayuka, there’s a possibility that he will play a big deeper in midfield alongside Chisamba with Sinkala at the base of that midfield trio in a formation likely to be 4-1-4-1.

Janza is set to send out the Copperbullets like this but....Sate Sate might get the nod to start.

Off the bench, all eyes will be on Kitwe 1 and Nkana forward Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba but it depends if he has shrugged off the knock he picked earlier last week.

  1. I would love to see Jackson also playing today, because he is a good player. Which channel is the game going to be televised live? All the best to National team.

  2. Bafana will fall 1 – 0, although it can go the other way round, Iam not seeing more goals as it will be a tight game. Alot is at stake with Bafana to impress and leave a sweet taste in their supporters mouths, on the other hand Zambian strikers especially the new kids will do their best to prove Janza’s choice. Let the game begin.

  3. There is noway Mr. Janza should start looking like Mr.Ibu,its game on, South Africa VS Zambia at 15hours:00 hours. Mind you, Renard never lost any game against South Africa,so watch out Bro.

  4. Zambia certainly win this match. singuluma is our main striker, as for mayuka he must up his game. if i was janza, i would drop mayuka frm th squad and bring moses phiri.

  5. It is promising to be a very interesting game as Shakes Mashaba”s side has quickly grown into a formidable size playing a
free flowing attacking football. It will really give our guys a good feel of they should expect in Equitorial Guinea.
Off the topic: I have been closely monitoring the contribution by Justice Kafusha on the other thread. Whilst the contribution is generally positive, I strongly detest the use of words like ulichipuba, you are stupid, etc followed by the offer to lecture someone on Zambian football. Ba Justice we need to respect the opinion of young ones and if you do not agree with them, just put across your own opinion, the Uncle Bobs way of doing things. I would rather you wait for the young bloggers to invite you to lecture to them rather than you inviting them to your lecture on Zambian football.
Let us discuss and debate our football in a non-intimidatory language. I am not happy about the ommission of Jacob but I have not called Janza stupid the way you have called. However, I have criticized him without insulting him. Learn to humble yourself like all of us. You may be interested to know, for instance, that Kondwani Mutonga started his football at ROK United but I have not mentioned it till now but even then, just to illustrate the point to you. Nobody blogs as King Blogger here but we are all bloggers with diverse knowledge and ideas about football.
So let us watch this afternoon’s friendly with Bafana Bafana and provide constructive comments and insights on the game.

    • In some online media they would have long blocked him, I agree with you totally majority of his comments its either hes insulting or just plain trotting on others. We should learn to tolerate each others opposing views and insulting of Janza its plain childish as no one has been stopped to go and coach Chipolopolo. I hope ZAMFOOT is keeping an eye on this obnoxious trend.

      • ROK, you’re on point bro. I really do not know what Justice’s problems are. The guy sounds like a bully. To him everyone here on this blog they are kids. He appears like a very frustrated guy in life. Full of violence and intimidation. Uko kwine. Smxhm.

    • Mr. ROK, many thanks for your kind advice. But this should apply to all bloggers who are fond of insulting and belittling others comments. All the best to Chipolopolo this afternoon. I am going to Orlando stadium this afternoon.

  6. @ROK u r spot on nice advice bra vry mature!Gentlemen lets rally behind da chipolopolo coz we hv taken another dimension as pilot master kalaba z preparing flight copper bullets to land.

  7. I would hv prefered a 4-2-3-1 formation we need atleast 2 holding midfielders. As for the justice I dnt think its really him it myt b an impersonator nonetheless we need decency on this site.

    • u r one who is the dullest. Mr justice is one of the biggest contributers to this site. it’s jst that he is expressing his displeasure against kalu and janza in a wrong way

    • In Bemba they say Koswe aikalisha mung’anda apitana na kasuba. I believe he used to be a good blogger but with time he started thinking the only way to look at other peoples views its either insulting or intimidate, and from the comments I read here I dont think there is a grade 7 among us even that they are also entitled to comment as a free ZAMBIAN site.

    • Star Tv trade as Top TV in SA ,they are a direct competitors of DSTV.All the broadcasting rights for SAFA organized games were won by a company called Siyaya TV, who are now selling broadcasting to the highest bidder.

  8. The race is on my Zed brothers, who will add a second star and be a real big brother of Southern Africa. Today’s game is a send off for both our countries. It will be the battle of the pace, that’s how we both play. Goodluck

  9. Its not time to point fingers we already expressed our views so let’s see if Janza,s plans and solutions might work.

I think our team lacks experience and personal performance by some so called experience players and going in to a big tournament like the AFCON I would have been so calm if the coach can be employing a 4 2 3 1 system that gives a team with two defensive midfielders, were we can use Nathan Sinkala and Kondwani M’tonga in front of a defence of Emmanuel Mbola on the Left, Davis Nkausu ‘if fit’ on the Right with Stophilla Sunzu and ??????? Or Aaron Katebe but not Chirstopher Munthali. The three attacking midfielders can be Team Captain Rainford Kalaba to be swapping Left and Right with Chisamba Lungu and Singulima at the middle with Emmanuel Mayuka or Ronard Kampamba as a lone striker.

Lubambo Musonda and Mukuka Mulenga can be coming on as impact player in place of Chisamba Lungu, Given Singuluma and ‘Konwani Mtonga’ one defensive positions in a situation were you need to change the system to 4 1 3 2 or 4 4 2 systems

My biggest worry is the defence with the accident which happened to Nyambe Mulenga we seem to be so venerable at the moment and up front were our Mayuka can’t score any more if new boy Kampamba can pic up the responsibility then will have a good tournament now been his first appearance no much expectations from him are dreamed

  10. I posted to confirm that the game will be live on ZNBC more than 10 minutes ago but I don’t know why the posting is still not showing.

  11. Thanks for that news @Morgy that is what we need on this blog, educating, informing, joking etc etc not infighting people.

  12. Good line up and I am not one to cry for my star man Sate Sate as we have taught the boy to be humble-his chance shall come-patience pays and besides he’s been unwell. Rest assured when his chance comes the country is assured of one thing-GOALS whether midget or non Afcon material-kekekekeke

  13. Am also for the same people ,let us team up and do a ka peaceful demonstration for the betterment of the nation.Kalu this is too much we have the players but your greed is now making us suffer.
