Bafana Bafana coach hints at a friendly match against Zambia

South Africa coach Hugo Broos has hinted at a possible friendly match between Bafana Bafana and the Chipolopolo Boys.

The Bafana Bafana coach has also revealed that his side will face France in one of the friendly matches.

“We are playing Matches against France and I think against Zambia after that. Those are the two matches to prepare us for the [2023] Afcon qualifiers in June,” he has been quoted.

The Belgian coach led Cameroon to the 2017 African Cup of Nations title with former Chipolopolo Boys coach Sven Vanderbroeck as his assistant.

“You are playing against the world champions. Strong opposition give you proper preparation. Even if you lose the games it is not a train smash,” the 69 year coach said

Former Chipolopolo coach Sven was Hugo’s assistant coach in Cameroon. The two men helped the Indomitable Lions of Younde to their 5th African Cup of Nations title in 2017

“You can learn a lot of things and get an indication of where your team is at. Immediately you will see where the weaknesses are, Such games tell you the distance the team has covered. They give you something more.

“Maybe that is what we needed and didn’t have for the qualifiers of the World Cup. We didn’t really play tough matches.”

FAZ President Andrew Kamanga gave an indication last week that Zambia where going to play 2 friendly matches.
