Following the draws that were conducted in Cairo on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, the 2020 Women’s AFCON will have the largest number of participating teams after 12 more confirmed their participation making it a record 36 teams compared to the previous AFCON which was played in Ghana which only had 24 teams in the qualifiers.
The Zambia Women National Team were drawn against Mozambique in the race for the 2020 Africa Women’s Championship.

The Copper Queens will host the Mambas in the first leg of the first round before travelling to Mozambique for the return match with both dates yet to be announced by The Confederations Of African Football(CAF).
The Winner Between Zambia and Mozambique Will face either Zimbabwe or Mauritius in the second round of the Qualifiers.
The Women’s AFCON Championship which is expected to have 12 teams taking part will be staged between 23 November and 1 December 2020.
The first round of the Qualifiers will take place in April 2020 with the qualification series concluding in June 2020.
Seven Countries which includes South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Morocco, Mali, Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast have all been put on bye for the first round and will join the race later.
