Rapid Vienna’s Africa Scouting Coordinator, Julian Lorinczi, has arrived in Zambia for the Elite Future Stars U19 Scouting Tournament, set to take place at Kafue Celtic’s Crocs Swamp.
Lorinczi landed in Lusaka on Tuesday and will oversee the four-day event alongside Nicol Fernandez from 12 Management.
The tournament runs from Friday to Monday and will feature seven teams, including four provincial select sides—Copperbelt, North Western, Western, and Southern—as well as The Crocs, Gothia, and Sporting Lusaka.
“We are thrilled to host our first-ever scouting tournament, with Rapid Vienna’s Africa scout Julian and our consultant from 12 Management in attendance to identify players ready for professional opportunities in Europe,” said Kafue Celtic Director Lee Kawanu.
“We look forward to hosting more events of this kind in partnership with other well-structured academies and the FAZ provincial teams,” he added.
Lorinczi recently completed similar scouting missions in Nigeria, Ghana, and Morocco as part of Rapid Vienna’s continued efforts to unearth emerging African talent.
“This is the model that our North and West African counterparts have been using for years,” said Sporting Lusaka Director Francis Alisheke.
“When the chance to host Julian came up, we couldn’t let it slip away. Our players need these kinds of pathways,” Dr Alisheke added.
