FC MUZA striker Andrew Phiri will lead the Chipolopolo B side at the 26th edition of the COSAFA Championship which will be held in Durban, South Africa.
Chipolopolo assistant coach Moses Sichone, who will be in charge of the team, has named a 23-man squad for the tournament.
The team left the country this afternoon for Durban ahead of the tournament’s official kicks-off, tomorrow.
Phiri nicknamed Bolex scored 14 league goals in the just ended campaign leading the Mazabuka based outfit to CAF Confederation Cup and the ABSA Cup final.
Other notable players include Chipolopolo new first choice goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga, Golden Mashata, Benedict Chepeshi, John Kosamu, Albert Kangwanda, Kelvin Kapumbu and Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba.
The COSAFA Championship is also being used as a preparatory tournament for the July month-end African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier.
Zambia is in Group B and will open its account on July 6 against the Flames of Malawi before facing Comoros three days later.
The final group match will be against Seychelles on July 11 at the Princess Stadium.

The Frontline is a source concern.. overall the team is very much ok. The strikers picked are not capable of delivering.

We could have used Kambole’s experience, Friday Samu we also see if he can add value. That boy the top scorer for mighty muf wonderers scored 22goals. Surely that shows the boy has an eye for the goal.
