Zambia Women’s national team captain Misozi ‘CR7’ Zulu says the Copper Queens are only targeting a win against Cameroon in the final of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifiers against Cameroon.
The former Indeni Roses forward believe everyone is putting in their level best and very serious about the two-legged tie against Cameroon.
“The training is going on well and everyone is pushing. All we want is a win. The way we are pushing you can see that we are very serious,” she said.
“We have three players playing abroad with a lot of experience, We just have to show up and help the team.”
“We have played them before. They have beaten us before and we have also beaten them before. The coaches have a lot of confidence in us and we are not worried. We just have to win this game, ” She added.
Zulu became the first Zambian footballer to score in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on 13th August 2019 as BIIK Kazygurt Pallokerho-35 Vantaa 4-1.
“This is our time to open the doors and go abroad. We have very good players here and we can’t just all be playing within the country it’s time to go to Europe and play the Champions League,” she said.
Zambia will be away to Cameroon on March 5 before hosting the indomitable Lionesses five days later.
The winner over two legs will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to be held later this year while the losing team will face Chile in a playoff that will offer a second chance for qualification.
