Friday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Group I qualifier between Algeria and Zambia has officially sold out, with a capacity crowd expected at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou.
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) confirmed that all tickets for the highly anticipated encounter have been snapped up, setting the stage for a packed stadium when the two sides meet.
The match kicks off at 20:00 local time in Algeria, or 21:00 CAT.
The fixture will mark Algeria’s first competitive match under new head coach Brahim Hemdani, who has been putting the Fennecs through their final preparations ahead of the opening Group I encounter.
Algeria completed their final training session on Thursday at the National Technical Centre in Sidi Moussa.
The session lasted almost 90 minutes and focused largely on tactical work, with Hemdani using the final preparations to work on his options and make adjustments to his starting XI ahead of the match.
The Fennecs will now head to Tizi Ouzou knowing they will have a full home crowd behind them for the opening fixture of their AFCON qualifying campaign.
Zambia, meanwhile, completed their preparations at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium on Thursday evening.
George Lwandamina’s side held a final hour-long training session at the venue, bringing an end to their preparations for what will be a demanding opening assignment in Group I.
The Chipolopolo have been working in Tizi Ouzou throughout the week as they prepare to face the North Africans, with captain Fashion Sakala and coach Lwandamina both expressing confidence in the squad ahead of the encounter.
With the stadium sold out and both teams completing their final preparations, attention now turns to the opening whistle in Tizi Ouzou.
