Alex Mwamba returns, Met with a dismissal letter

Nakambala Leopards Football Club defender Alex Mwamba has been dismissed by the Mazabuka based outfit following his absence without official leave.

Mwamba has been missing from training for more than 21 working days. Mwamba was last seen In Mazabuka after the loss to Green Eagles Football Club in Choma.

Speaking to the ZamFoot Crew, Nakambala Leopards vice Chairman Obert Habasimbi described the former Napsa Stars’ defender’s behavior as Gross Misconduct.

“We have rules here and so does the beautiful game, The behavior by Alex is unlawful and as such as a club we had to make a decision which is final,” Habasimbi told.

Alex Mwamba had a running Contract with Nakambala Leopards for a Year before going AWOL, The Player resurfaced on Wednesday 16th October in Mazabuka and the Club Welcomed him with a dismissal letter ending the relationship between the two parties.

The Zamfoot Crew also caught up with Head Coach Zeddy Saileti after the win over Buildcon to get his view on the matter.

“The behavior was not Professional, As a coach I can’t help him out because the time frame was too much, staying away from work for more than 21 days is just unacceptable,” he said.

Mwamba played the first 3 games for Nakambala Leopards (Away loss to Red Arrows, Home loss to Zesco United and The away loss In the Southern Derby at the hands of Green Eagles) partnering Given Sinyangwe in the heart of the defense.

Ever since Alex went AWOL, Nakambala Leopards have played 4 games without him giving head coach Zeddy Saileti the option to play youthful defender Timothy Banda and giving him a chance to shine.
