Aguila Stars confirm Brian Kunsanama and William Njobvu appointments 

National League side Aguila Stars have confirmed the appointment of Brian Kunsanama and William Njobvu as head coach and first assistant coach respectively as earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew

The duo joins the Queensmead based outfit as they look to start a new season with one eye on Super League promotion. 

Kunsanama has been head coach of one of the country’s most progressive sides Atletico Lusaka who were relegated from the Super League last season.

“Aguila Stars FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Kunsanama as Head Coach of the senior men’s team ahead of the 2025/26 National League season,”- part of the club’s statement read.

“This appointment marks a bold and strategic step forward for the club as we build on the momentum gained during the 2024/25 campaign under Coach Lwipa, who ably led the team in an interim capacity,” – The club added. 

Kunsenama is known for the passing game that saw the ‘Bad Boys’ become darlings of the many MTN Super League fans. 

William Njobvu was very active for the Copper Bullets between 2005 and 2013. He was part of the George Lwandamina coached Zambia U-20 national team that reached the round of 16 at the Canada 2007 World Cup.

Meanwhile Njobvu featured for the Chipolopolo Boys in 3 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, 2006, 2008 and 2010.

Njobvu played for a host of clubs during his football career including Kiryat Shmona, Lusaka Dynamos, Kabwe Warriors and Hapoel Beer Sheva.

Ignitious Lwipa who was interim coach will be the second assistant coach for the 2025/2026 season. 

Aguila finished the 2024/2025 ZPL National League in 11th place with 40 points from 34 games.
