The Football Association of Zambia has set progression from group as the first target for the Chipolopolo Boys.
The Chipolopolo will open its AFCON account on January 17 against Congo before facing Morocco four days later and conclude its group matches against Tanzania on January 24.
FAZ President Andrew Kamanga said they will take it one step at a time with qualification out of the group stage as the first target.
“We will take it one step at a time. The first thing is getting out of the group and then moving from there,” Kamanga told the media at an event in Lusaka.
The Copper Bullets have since regrouped in Lusaka as they start the local camp. The Chipolopolo Boys will shift base to Saudi Arabia next week.
Whilst in Saudi Arabia, the Copper Bullets will face Cameroon in a friendly match on January 9.
The 2012 AFCON winners are returning to the continental showpiece for the first time since 2013.
