ZESCO United young striker Enock Sakala Jnr is keen to help his team retain their ABSA Cup title.
Sakala who made his debut in the Competition in the quarter-finals against Kansanshi Dynamos says he would also like to score a goal in the Competition being his maiden campaign in the prestigious ABSA Cup.
Sakala who is a son of ZESCO United legend Enock ‘Londole’ Sakala Snr feels the ABSA Cup games are a bit tougher as there is no chance for a do-over like in the league where a team can lose a few games and still win it.
“It was tough and it was different from the league, both teams knew that there was no second leg, There was nothing like you playing a division one side because they also wanted to prove a point,” Sakala told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview.
“I want to help the team to defend the title and also since it’s my debut in this tournament, I want to score.”
ZESCO United will square off in the semifinal with Konkola Blades at Arthur Davies Stadium for a chance to defend their title.
The winners will walk away with K600 000 while the runners-up will walk away with K250 000. The player of the tournament and coach of the tournament will pocket K25, 000 each with the man of the match walking away with K15, 000.
