The only Cup competition in the country, the ABSA Cup, will enter the round of 16 this weekend with some exciting fixtures.
The expanded ABSA Cup Campaign will see five Provincial sides who won their respective preliminary matches join National Division One and Super League sides in the last 16.
A number of David vs Goliath encounters are expected as record winners ZESCO United face North Western side Barotse Crocs.
Meanwhile last year’s finalists FC MUZA squares off with Lusaka Province log leaders Chirundu United.
Muchinga Province representatives Mwaimwena strikers face a tough test against MTN Super League defending Champions Power Dynamos.
Nkwazi open the round of 16 matches as they welcome Indeni while Red Arrows welcome Northern Province representatives, Malalo Police.
National Division One side Atletico Lusaka will face Green Eagles while Nchanga Rangers lock horns with Riverplate.
All matches will be live on SuperSport 229 Variety 4 and Gotv. The winner of this year’s Absa Cup will pocket K800,000 from last year’s K700,000 with K350,0000 reserved for second place.
The Absa Life Player of the Tournament, Top Scorer and Golden Glove will each get K25,000. The ZAMTEL Man of the Match is K5,000 for the round of 16 and it will be upped to K15,000 from the quarterfinals until the final.
