A Zambian affair in Tanzania Community shield

Clatous Chota Chama returns to face former side …Kennedy Musonda and Joshua ‘Budo’ Mutale expected to be in action.

Three Zambian players will be in action this evening when YANGA SC and Simba SC go head to head in the Community shield.

The curtain raiser to the Tanzania Mainland League season will kick off at 18h00 at the 60,000 capacity Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

The match will see Joshua ‘Budo’ Mutale who recently joined Simba SC from Super League side Power Dynamos face off with his compatriots Kennedy Musonda and Clatous Chota Chama.

Chama recently made a switch to YANGA SC after spending 5 and half years with Mwanachi’s rivals Simba SC. It will be the first time he will be facing his former side.

Mutale is believed to be Chama’s replacement and will be keen to impress especially in this match.

Mutale was key for Power Dynamos in the last few seasons including their league winning 2022/2023 season.

Chama will also look to replicate the performances he put up for Simba SC which saw him become a cult hero for Wekundu wa Msimbazi.

Kennedy Musonda on the other hand has been on the books of Young Africans (YANGA SC) for one and half.

The former Lusaka Dynamos, Green Eagles and ZANACO forward has already won two league titles, two Federation Cup titles and a CAF Confederation Cup silver medal.

Yanga have dominated Tanzanian football in the last three seasons winning three consecutive Tanzania Mainland Premier League titles, making it a total of 30 titles.
