Zambian Super League side Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi has said his teams loss against Forest Rangers on match-day one of the 2019 league was good for the team.
Chiyangi told the ZamFoot Crew after seeing his team go down 1 – 0 away in Ndola that he will focus on picking maximum points in the next game.
“We did not start well especially in the first half. When the game started, Forest Rangers were aggressive and they put us under pressure but in the second half we created some chances,” he said.
Chiyangi went on to say: “Winning the first game could have been good for us but football being what it is we have to accept. Forest Rangers were playing at home and they also needed a win so we accept the loss; the only thing is to plan for the next game.”
When asked about his motivation in the next encounter with Power Dynamos, the 2018 Zambian coach of the year conceded that it would be a tough game but would go for it in front of their fans.
“What is important is we are playing at home. We know Power Dynamos is a good side and they won’t relax, so it won’t be an easy game we just have to fight tooth and nail,” Chiyangi said.
Green eagles will host Power Dynamos at the newly refurbished Independence Stadium on the 2nd of February 2019.
Green Eagles last season were exceptional and finished in the top four to represent Zambia in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup and they will be expected to be strong contenders in the league this season.
