Zambia National team midfield ace Rally Bwalya on Wednesday afternoon put up a splendid performance for Simba Sports Club who recorded a 2-0 win over Selem View Academy in the 2022 Mapinduzi Cup match.
Bwalya started the match in his usual advanced attacking midfield role and was key in controlling the game from the word go.
Wekundu wa Msimbazi took the lead after 24 minutes, Senegalese forward Pape Ousmane Sakho with a close range finish.
Bwalya doubled the lead in the 53rd minute with a sublime long range strike.
The former Power Dynamos midfielder was also voted man of the match thanks to his brilliant showing.
The win means Simba SC has progressed to the semifinals of the ongoing Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar.
Bwalya was also handed Sh500,000 ( slightly above K3600) in cash from the sponsors, The Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (NIC Insurance).
