Despite Zesco United bowing out of the CAF Champions League at the semi final stage, there is still Zambian interest in the finals of both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup.
Seven Zambian stars will be involved in the finals in three different teams;
Kennedy Mweene despite not seeing action was on the bench for Mamelodi Sunsowns when they beat Zesco United 2 – 0 to proceed to the CAF Champions league final on a 3 – 2 aggregate scoreline.
They were joined by Emmanuel Mayuka’s Zamalek who survived a spirited fight back by Wydad Casablanca to to progress on 6 – 5 aggregate scoreline despite losing 5 – 2 in the second leg.
Zamalek had to fall back on a good first leg which saw them win 4 – 0 at home.
Mayuka was an unsused substitute in the game.
In the CAF Confederations Cup, TP Mazembe scraped through to the final on away goals after they were held to a 0 – 0 draw by visiting Etoile du Sahel.
The African champions had Nathan Sinkala and Rainford Kalaba play the whole game while Kabaso Chongo saw out the game from the bench.
Jonas Sakuwaha and Given Singuluma did not make the bench,
Mazembe pulled a 1 – 1 draw away in the first leg of the fixture.
Mazembe will play Mo Bejaia of Algeria in the final.
Mayuka should leave zamalek. He is jst wastin his time
He needs to fight for his place in the team otherwise he will run away even from Kabwe Warriors
i can’t see mayuka going to bigger club after epl exit.
were will he go? kabwe warriors?
Mayuka’s manager should find him another club,because staying on the bench all the time is dangerous. I rest my case.
