Zesco and Arrows continue winning run, Eagles finally record a win as Zanaco suffer ‘Police brutality’

Zambia Super League defending Champions, Zesco United continued their good start to the 2019/2020 Super League season as they beat Lumwana Radiants 2-1 to maintain their position at the summit of the log.

Thabani Kamusoko scored a brilliant free-kick to win the match after Emmanuel Manda had canceled out Jesse Jackson Were’s opener. The win means Zesco United have won all their three opening matches.

At Nkoloma Stadium, Sensational Zanaco were handed a shock 3-2 defeat by the Zambia police sponsored, High Flying Nkwazi. The Bankers who were without head coach Numba Mumamba and Kelvin Kapumbu who are out in Mauritius on national duty could not match the brilliance of the coach Chris Kaunda tutored Nkwazi.

Eric Chomba scored a brace with Jeff Banda chipping in with a goal to secure maximum points for the Policemen. Roger Kola and Tafadzwa Rusike scored the two goals for Zanaco.

In the second match of the day at the same venue, Red Arrows came from a goal down to beat Power dynamos and maintain their 100 percent winning start to the season.

Linos Makwaza Jnr put Power in the lead in the 30th minute but two second-half goals from James Chamanga and Andrew Tololwa made sure the Airmen secured maximum points even in the absence of their captain Bruce Musakanya.

In Choma, Green Eagles finally recorded their first win of the season as they handed Nakambala Leopards their third defeat of the season. Andrew Kwiliko, Kennedy Musonda, and Joseph Mwandilila scored a goal each to make sure Eagles carried maximum points even in the absence of head coach Aggrey Chiyangi.

Matchday three came with two derbies in Kabwe and Ndola and they both produced an identical scoreline as both matches ended 2-2.
