2022 AWCON: Mwape makes one change as Chitundu starts

Zambia Women’s national team head coach Bruce Mwape has made one change to the team that started against Tunisia.

Goalscorer Avell Chitundu gets the node ahead of experienced striker Misozi Zulu.

Hazel Nali maintains her place between the sticks as Martha Tembo, Margaret Belemu, Agness Musesa, and Lushomo Mweemba make up the back four.

Grace Chanda and Ochumba Oseke Lubanji partner upfront while Evarine Susan Katongo and Irene Lungu continue their midfield partnership.

Zambia has already qualified for the quarter-finals but needs a win to seal the top slot in Group B.

The 2022 TotalEnergies WAFCON tie between Togo and the Copper Queens will take place at the 12,000-capacity Stade Prince Heritier Moulay El Hassan.

Kick-off is set for 22:00hrs central African time.

The top two teams in each of the three groups will advance to the quarter-finals, along with the two best third-place teams.

The semi-finalists will automatically qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand next year. Two more teams will be involved in inter-continental play-offs.
