The 2015 Barclays Cup semi final list was completed this afternoon with champions Zesco United and Lusaka giants Zanaco both proceeding after they swept off challenges from Division one leading sides Kabwe Warriors and Lumwana Radiants.
Zesco who lead the super division table opened the scores through midfielder Mwape Mwelwa who lobbed the ball into an empty net after goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga had left his line in the 14th minute.
Jackson Mwanza added another three minutes as the Ndola side ran away 2 – 0 victors over Warriors.
In the early kickoff, Zanaco were also too good for Division one south leaders Lumwana who they bashed 3 – 0 with goals from defenders Fackson Kapumbu, Ziyo Tembo and George Chilufya.
Zanaco will play Nkwazi in Lusaka derby while Zesco play Green Buffaloes.
I see a Zesco vs Zanaco final. I think Kapumbu is the best left back in the league. What more can one do to be called to the national team?
Definately Kapumbu is the best left back in the country, but he plays for Zanaco!!*#*? Ask the absentee President! Currently there are no local players with pedigree to cut it in the PSL, Israel,Belgium,or lower tier leagues in Europe. In the eight teams, in the Barclays Cup,none had a striker worthy of note! Its quite depressing! Meantime one Kalu, living and sunning it off in RSA, says the game is improving…..this chap… Bushe wambuto?
Lol!
