Zanaco Strengthen Squad with Capture of Nigerian Striker Williams Obande

Zanaco have bolstered their attacking ranks with the signing of Nigerian striker Williams Obande, completing a free-agent move as the Lusaka giants look to sharpen their edge in the MTN Super League.

The 24-year-old forward arrives with valuable continental experience, having previously turned out for Rivers United in the Nigeria Professional Football League before a stint in the United Arab Emirates with Khor Fakkan FC

His pace, movement and eye for goal are expected to add a new dimension to Zanaco’s frontline as the Bankers push for consistency in the second half of the campaign.

Obande wasted little time in making an impression, finding the net in Zanaco’s 3–1 victory over Zimbabwean side FC Platinum in an international friendly played last week.

The goal offered an early glimpse of his finishing ability and hinted at the impact he could make in competitive action.

With his paperwork now complete, Obande is in contention to make his MTN Super League debut on Saturday, when Zanaco face FC MUZA at Sunset Stadium

Head coach Numba Mumamba and the technical staff will be encouraged by the striker’s quick adaptation, as the Bankers seek greater firepower in front of goal.

Zanaco are currently fourth on the MTN Super League table with 28 points.
