The week 18 of the MTN/FAZ Super League saved us with a number great games and a number of outstanding individual performances from players. Green Eagles keep winning with Nkana falling prey at their hands.
The Zamfoot crew were also on high alert looking at who was outstanding in each to take their rightful places in the Zamfoot team of the week.
Team of the Week
GK- Danny Munyao, The Red Arrows shot stopper was on top of his game as he kept a clean sheet in the Airmens narrow one nil win over the Bankers.
LCB-Levy Makungu, The Kitwe United defender put in a brilliant shift with great interceptions and last ditch tackles in his teams nil all draw with New Monze Swallows.
CB- White Mwanambaba, The Power Dynamos defender basically pocket Green Buffaloes striker Jasper Masaileti and made important inceptions. Not even the tricky Diamond Chikwekwe was able to get the better of him.
RCB-Allan Kamwanga, The Power Dynamos right back was fantastic on the day as he did his defensive duties well and provided support going forward.
DMF-Cliford Saidi, The KYSA defensive midfielder was by far the best player on the pitch despite his side losing by a lone goal. Saidi controlled the midfield and was very industrious even earning himself the MTN man of the match award.
DMF – Sydney Kalume, The Lusaka dynamos defensive midfielder was exceptional in his box to box role. The veteran was key in making sure National Assembly’s George Chaloba did not play his game.
CM- Moses Siyanda, The Nakambala Leopards midfielder was very influential in Coach Patrick Phiri’s side collecting maximum points against NAPSA Stars at home as he made sure he dominated the midfield.
CM- Kizito Cheelo – The Green Eagles midfielder played one of his best games so far and gave Nkana a very tough afternoon as he was pulling all the strings in midfield and linking up well the strikers.
LWF- Bruce Musakanya – The Red Arrows captain was at his terrorizing best giving Zanaco defenders a big headache. He could have easily gotten on the scoresheet if not for Toaster Nsabata.
RMF- Jesse Jackson Were, The Kenyan talisman created Zesco United’s opening goal against Nchanga Rangers and was on hand to score the second.
CF – Chris Mugalu – The Lusaka Dynamos striker levelled matters for Lusaka dynamos as they came from a goal down to beat National Assembly. The 2017 top goalscorer had a great game overall with good hold up okay and link up with midfielders.
Player of the week : Kizito Cheelo – The Green Eagles midfielder was involved in both goals for Green Eagles and had a general good game against Nkana earning himself the player of the week ahead of Spencer Sautu.
Coach of the week : Green Eagles Aggrey Chiyangi led his team to a two one win over Nkana a team that has not lost any of their last give games prior to last weekends encounter he warns his place as coach of the week.
Special mention : John Ching’andu, Joshua Titima, Walter Bwalya, Eric Chomba, Amit Shamende, George Chaloba, Rodgers Mukenge, Austin Muwowo and Spencer Sautu (getting a Red Card was his only undoing)
