Zambia record their first win at COSAFA U20 Championship

The Zambia U17 National team has recorded their first win at the ongoing 2025 COSAFA U20 Championship.

First half goals were enough to give the Aaron Kawangu coached side an emphatic win and take the team to four points after two games.

Gabriel Phiri opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Billy Daka doubling the lead with a close range finish off a Kelvin Chipelu cross.

Kelvin Chipelu then turned finisher in the 32nd minute to make it 3-0. The match went to the break with Zambia leading 3-0.

In the second half Zambia made changes but could not add to their goal tally as they saw off the match , 3-0.

Kelvin Chipelu was named as the player of the match thanks to his brilliant performance with a goal and an assist.

Zambia will finish their group stage matches with an encounter against Botswana.
