Zambia open COSAFA U-20 campaign with a win

Zambia U20 national team thrashed Botswana 5-0 to start their 2019 COSAFA U-20 Youth Championships campaign on a winning note.

Napsa Stars starlet Jimmy Mukeya was the star of the day as he netted a brace while defender Crawford Mwaba netted a classic bicycle kick. Francisco Mwepu and Ricky Banda chipped in with a goal each.

The Osward Mutapa tutored side were in the driving seat throughout the match with Jimmy Mukeya, Patrick Gondwe and Chanda Mukuka making a beautiful midfield trident and created most Young Copper Bullets moves going forward.

The other group A match saw the Young Flames of Malawi overpowering Comoros Islands handing them a 4-0 defeat. Patrick Mwaungulu scored a hat-trick with Francisco Madinga grabbing the other goal for the Young Flames

Angola whitewashed Seychelles 8-0 in their opening group C encounter to bring the total goals scored on matchday one to 17.
