Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club and Indeni Roses thumped Amazing Grace and ZISD respectively while Trident Queens, Green Eagles, and ZANACO Ladies recorded wins.
Action in week 12 of the ZPL Women’s Super League continued on Sunday with some exciting matches taking place across the country. At Reiz Arena Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club were too good for Amazing Grace.
Agness Phiri came off the bench to score a hat-trick as Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club beat Amazing Grace 7-1 to open a seven point lead.
Maweta Chilenga, Natasha Nanyangwe, Natasha Kasema and Lydia Shamalima with a goal each while Ruth Muwowo scored from the penalty spot to pull one back for the Kabwe based outfit.
At Bank of Zambia Sports Complex, Green Eagles edged YASA Queens 1-0 thanks to a Rachel Moono first half goal.
At Independence Stadium, Indeni Roses were too good for ZISD Women as they put six past the hosts.
Grace Phiri scored a brace while Edith Phiri, Mwila Mwamba, Rhoda Chileshe and Noria Sosala chipped in with a goal each.
At Sentinel Ground, Trident Queens returned to winning ways as they saw off Chipata Girls 6-1. Agness Musele scored a brace while Ruth Chinyama, Elizabeth Chishimba, Twamala Nachilima and Donas Simaundu scored a goal each.
Agness Phiri scored the consolation goal for Chipata Girls.
At Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe, a quick brace from Blessings Zangose Zulu was enough as ZANACO Ladies beat Konkola Blades Queens 2-1. Towera Nkhata scored the goal for Konkola Blades Queens.
On Saturday, Mary Mambwe scored a spectacular goal in the dying minutes to rescue a point against ZESCO Ndola Girls away at Trade Fair Grounds.
Thadiwe Ndhlovu had put the hosts in the lead in the first minute of the match.
Elsewhere, Nkwazi Queens ended their eight match winless run as they beat Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles 1-0 thanks to a Esther Phiri goal.
At Nationalist Stadium, Veteran Tukiya Mufishi scored the only goal of the game as National Assembly recorded their second win of the season beating highly rated Nchanga Rangers Queens 1-0.
