Who will leave the Premier League at the end of the season 2022/2023: a preview

The current Premier League season started in August 2022 and will end in the second half of May 2023. In total, two dozen teams, representing 12 different English cities, take part in the competition. In total, the clubs will play 38 rounds, after which the teams that finish in places from 18th to 20th will be relegated to the Championship.

The bookmakers have identified four top contenders for relegation, namely Bournemouth, Everton, Southampton and Manchester City. If you want to bet on English Premier League matches, we recommend that you do so using the mobi version.

Bournemouth

Wards of Gary O’Neill by the 20th round of the Premier League were located on the 18th line in the standings. At the same time, Bournemouth was inferior to the 17th Wolverhampton only in additional indicators. Having suffered 11 defeats, the representatives of the county of Dorset have drawn 5 times and won four times.

Only Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Leicester and Everton were able to beat “bosque”. It is also important to note that the last win of the Cherries dates back to the first half of November 2022. In the January segment, the “red-blacks” lost to Burnley and Brentford, and also painted a world match with the “foresters”.

By the end of January 2023, Boscom had the worst defense in the league.

On average, the brainchild of Black Knight Football Club conceded a little more than two goals in 90 minutes of playing time. At the same time, the “cherries” did not shine in the attack either. In general, Bournemouth still has a chance of salvation, but it will be extremely difficult to compete for the right to remain in the elite.

Everton

The Toffees, still under the leadership of Frank Lampard, showed themselves disgustingly, gaining only 15 points in 20 rounds of the English Premier League. In addition, by the beginning of February 2023, Everton had the worst attack in the championship. With 3 wins, the Scousers have drawn 6 times and lost 11 times.

The Blues are two points behind 17th Wolverhampton. So the team from Liverpool still have chances to save.

Since February, Everton has been led by Sean Dyche, who is called upon to save the Scousers from relegation to the Championship.

The task is not an easy one, but the composition of the “toffees” is competitive and the inhabitants of “Goodison Park” may well add. Although in the January segment, Seamus Coleman and partners suffered three defeats in a row from Brighton, Southampton and West Ham.

Southampton

The guys of Nathan Jones after 20 rounds were at the very bottom of the standings. At the same time, Southampton was inferior to the 19th Everton only in additional indicators. And the density of teams from the 14th to the last line is quite impressive. So several victories of the “saints” in a row can move them away from the relegation zone.

But by the end of January, the brainchild of Katarina Lichber and Dragan Solak had the most defeats in the league, namely 13. But Leicester, Chelsea, Bournemouth and Everton managed to defeat the inhabitants of St. Mary’s.

The Saints by the beginning of February had one of the worst defenses and attacks in the league.

In January, Southampton managed to beat the Toffees at Goodison Park, but lost at home to Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa with the same score 0:1. It is important for James Ward-Prowse to gain momentum now, otherwise it may be too late.

Wolverhampton

The team of Julen Lopetegui by the end of January was in the tournament on the 17th line. At the same time, Wolverhampton were ahead of the relegation zone only in terms of additional indicators.

It should also be noted that in the opening three games of the 2023 Premier League, the Tramps drew with Aston Villa, defeated West Ham and lost to Manchester City. The weak point of the “wolves” is the attack. In 20 games, the brainchild of Fosun International scored only 12 goals.

“Wolves” are able to add and more regularly score points. The fight for the right to stay in the Premier League for the “tramps” promises to be difficult, but the Wolves have a good chance of avoiding relegation.

Our forecast

Of the bottom four, Wolverhampton look the most stable, as demonstrated by the Wolves at the beginning of 2023. Bournemouth, Everton and Southampton rarely gain points and in terms of game look very mediocre.

So it is the Cherries, Butterscotch and Saints that are most likely to be relegated from the Premier League and start next season in England’s second-best football league.
