Wedson Nyirenda: Baroka will play with a character of a champion

Former Zambia national soccer team coach Wedson Nyirenda has been unveiled as new Baroka FC coach.

Nyirenda who moved to the PSL after resigning his position as Chipolopolo coach told the media that he is looking to transform his team to have a character of champions.

Nyirenda – “I cannot promise mountains, but I can just say people will see a big difference and they will see good football. They will see a team with a character of a champion. My biggest love of all these things is that I will be mingling with people like Pitso. I respect him so much, he has done great things and he is a son of Africa,” Kickoff reports.

“Micho [Milutin Sredojevic] at Pirates as well and Mr [Luc] Eymael of Free State Stars. These are great guys, like Gavin Hunt who I played with at Hellenic. He was my captain. They have inspired me a lot and I think this is the time to rub shoulders with them. I have done my things in Zambia, with the national team and clubs, but now it’s time to rub shoulders.”

Nyirenda has won the league in Zambia and Zimbabwe where he has coached.
