We have to show our quality and ability against Power says Vipers coach

Vipers SC coach Ivan Minnaert has challenged his players to prove that they have the quality and ability to compete against Power Dynamos.

The two sides clash on Independence day in the second leg of the second round of CAF Champions League at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Power Dynamos are bookmakers favourite following the 2-1 away victory last week.

Despite that advantage, the older generation from Ndeke will be cautioning the players about what happened in the mid-90s.

Back then Power Dynamos returned from Kampala with a 2-1 aggregate against Express but the Ugandans won at Arthur Davies Stadium 1-0 to proceed to the next round.

“The positives we carried on from the first leg is that we have 90 minutes to play,” Minnaert said

“Power Dynamos showed their hunger. I think we have the ability, we certainly have the quality – and now we have to prove it,” he added.

“Hopefully we have learned and we can show the composure, the determination and the belief that is very important.

“Tomorrow we know what we are going to be facing – and it’s going to be tough. So, to my players, be very focused, very determined and go for it.”

The winner will qualify to the lucrative group stage.
