Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda has said his players didn’t disappoint against Comoros despite suffering a 1-0 defeat.
The former Zanaco and Zesco United coach has set his sight on Wednesday’s must win tie against Botswana.
Nyirenda also said that goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga should have done well to prevent the goal.
“They used their set piece very well, and they got the goal through a mistake by our goalkeeper,” Nyirenda said
“He should have attacked the ball, but instead, he went behind the striker,” he added
“It’s not a good start for Zambia because there are only three teams in the group. We now need to win the next game at all costs, with a good goal margin, and hope for a favorable result in the other match,”
” I think it was a wonderful game I saw from my boys. We were on top of the opponents for most of the the times of the the game.
“Having the 90% of our players being in international football, we’re giving them a chance to become mature. So I think they didn’t disappoint.”
