FAZ Division one Southern province enters week 21 this coming weekend with plenty of action as the league reaches the business end of things.
Any slip at this point may mean you’re relegated, win the championship or you remain in the League.
For the Championship, it now looks clear that only Livingstone based Play It Forward and Chikankata based River Plate are the only two contenders.
Dreams of winning it by other teams like Maramba Stars and FC YOUNG MUZA look too far fetched as about 20 points separates the top team Play It Forward and the 3rd placed FC YOUNG MUZA.
After 18 rounds of matches, Play It Forward leads the log on 48 points followed by bitter rivals River Plate with 45 points.
River Plate is a new team in the league playing their third season but what’s interesting is how they have performed well in just a few years in the league.
In their first season, they finished 3rd in the second season, which is last season they finished 2nd. It will be interesting to see their fate this season.
Play it forward has demonstrated that they are really a good contender for the Championship this season. They have been very consistent.
Winning both home and away, only recording one loss and 2 draws and that’s the mentality of Champions.
Exactly three points separates Play It Forward and River plate with only 15 games to go before the end of the season.
What’s more interesting is that Play It Forward will host River Plate this Sunday 19th February in Livingstone.
Play It Forward have only lost once this season and that loss came at the hands of River Plate in the first round of the season.
A win for Play It Forward may just guarantee them a 65 percent chance of league victory as they will extend the point difference to 6 points whilst a win for River Plate will make the league go into its climax as these two title contenders will have equal points.
Now if you’re in Livingstone and nearby areas these are the matches you can’t afford to miss as the Provincial Division goes to the wire.
