South Africa and Angola will face-off in the final of the TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations 2026 | COSAFA Qualifier in Harare on Saturday, safe in the knowledge they have already booked their places at the continental finals.
South Africa defeated Comoros 7-0 and Angola edged Mozambique 1-0 in a Lusophone Derby in Thursday’s semifinals to seal their spots in the decider at the Ngoni Stadium (KO 14h00 CAT; 12h00 GMT).
There is still a chance for the two last-4 losers to earn their place at the TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 AFCON 2026 when they meet in the third-place play-off that will also be staged on Saturday (11h00 CAT; 09h00 GMT).
COSAFA will have three representatives again at the continental finals, where they will in turn hope to be among the 10 nations from Africa at the expanded 48-team FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar next year.

South Africa were 2-0 up inside five minutes of their semifinal with Comoros and never looked back for their biggest win of the competition.
Aphelele Majola put them in front before Omphemetse Sekgoto scored the first of his two goals as they led 3-0 at halftime.
Mpho Mbilini netted a brace in the second half before Thandanani Mhlongo took his tally of goals in the tournament to five with another strike. He is two behind Golden Boot leader Pedro Antonio from Angola.
Ntokozo Madondo, making his first start in the competition, rounded out the goalscoring.
It was a much tighter affair in the second semifinal as Angola edged their rivals 1-0.
Eliseu Francisco scored the only goal of the game after 10 minutes in a closely fought contest.
South Africa will be seeking a record-equalling fourth COSAFA Under-17 crown in the final, while Angola will hope to add to their two previous wins. South Africa’s last trophy win came in 2020 and Angola the following year.
