Kabaso Chongo, Nathan Sinkala and Given Singuluma were all in action over the weekend when they helped TP Mazembe shoot to the top of Group A in the CAF Champions League after a 1 – 0 over Smouha of Egypt.
Kabaso started and completed the entire match while Sinkala returned to Champions league action and played 22 minutes.
Singuluma came in as an 88th minute substitute while Rainford Kalaba watched from the stands as he was suspended for the game.
Mazembe won the match with a goal from Rodger Claver Assale who was part of the Ivory Coast team that lost to Zambia in the CAF U23 qualifiers.
The Congo giants are now on 8 points from four games and are being trailed by Al Hilal and Moghreb Tétouan who are both on 5 points.

This is good news for Chipolopolo if our boys are playing competitive football in their respective clubs, especially this CAF champions league football. Kabaso Chongo should claim his position as Zambia’s right full back, seeing that position currently vacant with Nkausu being out of form and Malama being suspect in that position. We need to have good players in all the positions as we prepare for the AFCON and World cup qualifiers. Good stuff for Mazembe and our players for topping that group.
very bro there we players who playing in there respective clubs.
That is very true bro there we players who playing in there respective clubs.
Kabaso is showing a lot of fighting spirit…Not wanting to be kept on the bench by other right backs in the TP team. I’ve seen him bounce back each time the coach chooses one other right back to play ahead of him. He seems also to have endeared himself to TP fans….with his long throw-ins into the penalty area.
Zambian clubs should be competing at this level. It’s the best arena for players to showcase their skills. International scouts are more likely to watch players performing in the Champions league than in the local league. Zambian players and clubs need to show more ambition than they’re currently doing.
Good 4 our players bouncing back into the game and playing CAF champions league.
Meanwhile, Ghana is about to export a 21 yr old Rahman to Chelsea and our players are still stuck in in Ituri forest. We have a FAZ president that is visinless and that is our root problem. He only cares about his pocket and how he can benefit from a few player’s movement. This is why he has no interest in bringing the Musonda kids to play for Zambia because they have connections in Europe and have a father who understands the financial implications/dealings in Europe and our anointed Kalu would not get a cent from the Musonda kid’s movements, so why expose them on the national stage? This is Kalu’s mindset. Kalu is pathetic to Zambian football now. His past contributions are well documented and appreciated, but its time we get rid of him before Zambia goes to the worse than it is now.
Its the Musonda boys and their parents who doesn’t want their kids to play for Zambia. Get ur facts right…
Shhhhhh Chandika, the adults are talking, but to dispute your blame on the Musonda kids parents, the 2 older brother were available for under 17 and 20, and when they showed up, how were they treated? Find out and informed. In Zambia, ignorant parents let their kids get mistreated by morons like Kalu and his crew, but the Musonda’s are not desperate and ignorant as most players parents are in Zambia and that is why they fall victim to Kalu’s manoeuvres.
Gentlemen on the Musonda boys, I think this issue is beyond Kalusha. It is to do with the Zambian constitution which does not allow dual citizenship. It is evident the boys are not willing to drop Belgian citizenship unless dual citizenship was allowed in Zambia. Just my opinion.
Yaa it good for kabaso and chipolopolo boys team. Indeed that number needs a good player.
@ tc soccer man.king kalu is not a player agent and he is not allowed to be involved in an player’s move. on this issue leave him alone.on the issue of the musonda boys apart from the issue of constitution they were barred by their father who is unpatriotic. remember during his day he used to snub national duty.its good to see our boys performing but when it comes to team selection the ones who not performing they will be given first elven jersy.mwape musonda should be recalled for national duty to boast our strike force.
I have no problem you or anyone disliking Kalu as Faz president. However some of your comments about Kalu are downright sickening and pathetic. To have the same mouth talk sense (as you do at times) and utter rubbish as you’ve just done above makes you the very definition of delusion.
Iwe Paddy, much as I might sound delusional, facts are facts, Kalu is corrupt and is not doing anything to help matters when it comes to those kids coming to play for Zambia. So whether Kalu is your buddy or you are one of cadres, people like me will not budge on that, we will bring the facts as they are. You might not like it, but it is what it is!
Ba Soccerman if its about facts then here we go: it’s a fact that your language on Kalu is filthy. It’s a fact that you deliberately drift away from the topic at hand so you can have a go at Kalu at the slightest opportunity. Kalu has made mistakes (we all know that) but for you to continuously call the guy names and accuse of corruption without taking up the matter with relevant bodies makes turns you into a beautiful tin full of holes. You can call me a cadre if it makes you happy but I guess it’s a question of “sending a thief to catch another.”
Please let’s get facts right on Charles Musonda as I watched a lot of games featuring Charles Musonda in World Cup qualifiers, Afcon qualifiers (86 where just in the first game he had partial vision loss while in 90 Afcon both Kalu missed with his Team Anderletch playing Sampdoria in the current Europa final and 88 Seoul Olympics where he made 3 assists for Zambia’s 4 goals. I will always include Charles and Kalu in my best Zambia XI for the great telepathy the two had on the pitch. This Charles unpatriotism talk is neither here nor there nor there as players offer services and are paid for every game and not paid if unavailable. For those that play the patriotism song-kindly go and fish our top striker at the Afcon 74 Simon Kaudi Kaushi who is languishing coaching a youth team in Kitwe-let’s not play double standards please. On a lighter note my Boer boss once told me “My man u disappoint me using the word patriotism as that is what popis (kernell dwellers) do when they see their bosses by wagging their tails”!!!
at soccer man. Our constitution does not allow dual citizenship. so pls let’s not Blane kalu on the musondas. in fact if mr MUSONDA himself wanted the Belgium wld not even force the boys to play
@Mambwe, the constitution is you people, you keep voting for the useless leaders that can’t even fix the flawed piece of paper called a constitution, wonder why!
zamfoot we need a report on cyril chibwe he plays for platinum stars
My fellow boys I last week challenge ba faz president and ba zamfoot over the charlie Musonda’s sons they never never answered what a shame!!!!
you r the only boy here. and yo behavior justifies it
Surely, sometimes take time to read bloggers comments. There is vital information that some bloggers give. On the issue of the Charles Musonda, this issue is discussed on the blog and you should know the state of affairs by now. I am not defending Zamfoot but some of these issues are common knowledge.
Who are your fellow boys? Look at your name, it sounds like some one with dirrhea inside the toilet. Learn to have respect even if you have not seen people who blogs here. Some have very rich history of Zambian soccer dating back as far as 1970’s & 80’s. So be warned!
May I be corrected,I hear manuchi- Zimbabwean boxer was offered citizenship,HR was as well.why can’t the govt also move in ,in the case of Musonda boys?in other countries, we have heard of sports ministers also taking active positions in such matters.to b honest we need those boys
Didn’t you read what Charles Musonda’s wife is claimed to have said to the media. She is claimed to have said that the 3 boys will never play for Zambia, citing some issues at FAZ. From the way the story was written, Musonda’s was indirectly point the finger at Kalu. However she was not brave enough to specify what the problem is/was, because if the issues are personal then this should not be connected to Zambian football nor involve the 3 boys. Kalu and Musonda should just sit down as Zambians and iron their personal differences if at all there any
wife
Billy you are right ,Kabaso needs to reclaim that position.Malama is forced to play in that unfamiliar position which he has failed to adjust to.Well done boys for the game time because thats what we need also to reflect at national team level.
Kalu is pathetic, sure how can he fail to amend Zambian constitution on dual citizenship so that Chirles Musonda’s sons be eligible to play 4 Zambia? He should have done that long time ago. He is crap like HR. Bonetti won us afcon 2012 but Kalu failed to pay him, until GRZ intervened.
Uhhmmm?????? Mr Mumbi, are you for real? I guess you only mocking someone/some people.
Why these kids they re not zambians there parents have refused them the youngest was here in 2012 nd 2013 tiyeni ti supote chabe vimapulanga vatu, in reality what has charles done, he use to get sick wen needed 4get hs has no heart for this country
sadists every time on kalu you forgot Charles musonda was shunning Zambian duties do you think that he can allow his kids to come and play for Zambia . We have plenty crops of players here in Zambia who can do better than those kids.
Let us concentrate on the players that we have.
By the way where is that 18 year old white Zambian defender who went to join Tottenham Hot Spurs? I recall he played for the under/20. Has anyone at FAZ made a follow up?
There was another Zambian white boy who played for under 17 a few years ago. Where is this boy?
Ba ZAMFOOT could you help as with some info. about the 2 boys
Thanks
King Kalu kalu kalu zonda uzalema
i even challenged zamfoot not to concerntrate much with throw back we are nolonger living in the past we need to build for future. they should expose all the talents we have foreign land. senegal did this and the managed to build one of the best team in this world.in other contries they use media to develop football.if am not mistaken janza’s team was selected by bloggers and zamfoot did a great job by giving reports on the performance of players. where is staces former under 20 player i last heard him playing for pretoria unversity developmental side.and i am sure there is another former under 20 player in denmark (marlvin suluwanji)
