Former KAA Gent striker Rodger Kola has become the lastest Zambian player to join Tanzanian outfit, Azam FC.
The Chipolopolo forward has penned a two-year deal with the Wana Ramba Ramba. The club took to social media to confirm the development.
The deal was signed today in Dare Es Salam. Kola joined Azam as a free agent after his contract with Zanaco came to an end on June 21st.
Kola will reunite with his former coach George Lwandamina, and link up with fellow Zambians, Obbie Chirwa, Charles Zulu, and Paul Katema.
Kola is represented by renowned agent NIR KARIN who also brokered the Charles Zulu deal to the same club.
Kola told the ZamFoot Crew that he’s very happy to join a big club (Azam FC) and that he is very happy to unite with coach Lwandamina who coached him at U-20 World Cup in 2007. Kola was also quick to say thank you to the Bankers fans.
“I want to say a big thank you to all Zanaco fans and family,” he said.
My emphasis is we must try to take youngsters to Europe for development of our soccer. Having a number of youngsters trading in Europe is a very big advantage.

Whilst Zambians r calling for foreign quota n limitations of foreigners in squads Tanzania is enhancing thr league buy buying more n more foreigners..look at the English league best league with no quota England reached finals of euros semis of world cup with majority of English players playing in mid o low level clubs..south Africa with no quota won cosafa with nfd players.. don’t bring a quota system let locals fight for team places foreigners will bring competition hence enhacing the league better..
South Africa only allows 5 foreign players in their squads which we have adopted. Coming to England player development is usually stifled as very few players have come out of their academy system as even these are infiltrated with foreign players. Reaching one final in 56 years speaks volumes.

For me it’s not about being in urope that matters but how influential the play was in a local league before traveling which matters. Kalu was very influential player before going to urop and his younger brother Jason Bwalya was not even in urop. Mbesuma, Katongo, Issac, etc were already house hold names before going out of the country. 2ndly it also depends on the team and the league one join.prayers like Triple C are urop material. Thank you
