Nkana missed a chance to close in on third placed Green Eagles as they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at home.
A Kondwani Chiboni own goal in the 3rd minute put the visitors, Prison Leopards in the lead and in the driving seat.
Damiano Kola doubled the lead in the 30th minute from close range after being set up by 2017 U-20 AFCON winner Conlyde Luchanga.
Kalampa tried to get back into the game but could not beat Patrick Chooma in the Collect Boys goal, 2-1 the match finished.
The win takes Prison Leopards to 12th place with 36 points while Nkana remain fourth with 45 points from 30 games played so far.
Next up for Nkana is a trip to Ndola to face inconsistent Forest Rangers while Prison Leopards welcome out of form Green Buffaloes.
