NAPSA Stars head coach Sipho Mumbi wants his team to return to winning ways on Friday when they kick off week 12 of the MTN Super League after their 2-0 shock defeat away to FC Leopards.
Mumbi says he has been psyching the players during the international break so that they can return to winning ways.
The Pensioners welcome Nkwazi who are full of confidence after they recorded their first win of the season just before the international break beating Mines United 2-1.
“I think so far so good, coming from a loss in Kabwe. We thank God we had a week to psych the players to get back to the winning ways. The boys look set and ready for Friday’s game,” Mumbi said.
“So far so good. You know, it hasn’t been easy, you know, losing against prison leopards. But, you know, these are people who know that at the end of the day they have to do their job. So I’m hoping and praying that we rebound and get back to winning ways.”
Meanwhile Kenneth Kasanga has suffered another injury after coming back just before the match against FC Leopards. Mumbi however has the rest of the squad available for the encounter.
“I think almost everybody is almost ready except for Kenneth Kasanga who got an injury the week before last in the game against FC Leopards but other than that everybody is ready for the game,” he said.
“Yeah, of course they have to continue fighting. It hasn’t been easy for all of us, the technical bench, the players. It hasn’t been easy, but we pray that they continue supporting the team. At the end of the day, we as a team, we always strive to win every game, but sometimes it’s not in our control. So let them continue supporting the team,” he added.
The Pensioners have dominated this encounter winning 10 of the last 22 meetings in comparison to Nkwazi’s six wins with the other six games ending in draws.
Kick off at Reiz Arena is set for 15h00 Central African Time.
