New Sports Minister Vincent Mwale has summoned the Football Association Zambia (FAZ) to his office to discuss issues to with former Chipolopolo coach Dario Bonneti and current coach Honour Janza.
Mwale stated that the issue of Bonneti has dragged for too long and would want to see it settled once and for all.
“I have called FAZ to come to the ministry this week to deal with the issue of Dario Bonetti and Honour Janza who has no contract,” Mwale said.
“This is a matter [of Bonneti] we should be discussing with FAZ this week, and hopefully we resolve this matter.”
“We cannot bury our head in the sand, this matter has been there and we cannot let it go like that. It has been existing we have been reported to FIFA we are aware of that.”
“If we don’t resolve this matter, we risk being banned and it is in no one’s interest to see Zambia banned,” Mwale said.
Bonneti has asked FIFA to punish FAZ for failing to comply with the directive to have him paid for dismissal as coach of the Zambia national team after qualifying Zambia to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
On the other hand, Janza who led Zambia to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations has not been given a contract yet.

Kalusha is a corrupt administrator and why are we giving Janza a contract? The man is a failure. He failed to top a group with cape verde and then he failed to qualify to round 2 of afcon m why are we holding him? We need a European coach.

Kalusha Bwalya is a disgraced and PATHETIC chap who should not be running our football. We have had enough of him. He has taken our football to the dogs. We need new blood in FAZ. We need people that are going to take our football to the next level. Kalusha should concentrate on being a CAF committee member.
I am happy that the new youthful Minister Vincent Mwale has taken the Bonetti and Janza issue as first priority. It’s time that the corrupt FAZ executive pays off what they owe Bonetti and engage a coach with experience and a proven track record. We need a qualified tactician who understands football; a great thinker of the beautiful game. A motivator who will be able to clearly disseminate his ideas to the players and not a chap who does not seem to know what he is doing!

Yes, we need a european coach whome we can afford to pay. Renards assistant is the right man and I think we need him. We dont want to have the same problems of Bonetti DVD remote control coach in future. Lets pay the DVD coach and hire Patrice B who just won another trophy with Ivory Coach.

we should just resolve the bonnet issue by rehiring the guy back, to me he didn’t fail. He can be a good coach to take over considering that since his departure he’s even been following Zambian football. Moreover, it is a cheap way of resolving this issue, that is if it can be resolved through dialogue.
Gentleman we need a European. Football is in europe and the best football brains are in Europe. The world cup is now dominated by European nations who are now heavily beating south Americans. My biggest problem is why is the pathetic Kalusha failing to advertise the national team job. We don’t have a serious coach. We have an amateur in Janza why can’t we advertise the job the same way Ghana did and got Avram grant.

Outline Bonneti’s achievements since leaving Zambia. And care to know that the bridge has been burnt between Zambia and Bonneti. Let’s just pay him his money and thereafter he can just remain in your vocabulary! Just drop it john, Bonneti will never coach Zambia again. The guy spends most of his time discussing useless issues on super sport instead of attending to preparation and travelling arrangements. We are tired of hearing the team camping in sa when a tournament is in West Africa. To save himself from wasting money he must just re hire bonetti who is a better coach than Janza the failure.
The hiring of an experienced coach can’t be over emphasized. Kalusha Bawlya and his corrupt FAZ executive must immediately advertise for the position of national team coach. I am still shocked that they have stubbornly refused to advertise for the position. Janza is not a coach. He is more of a technical advise whose job is still sit in an office. We are DOOMED if he remains in charge of the team!

Most of you people underestimate this coach bonetti. Bonetti topped a group with the stubborn Libyans. That very same Libyan team won chan in 2014. Janza can’t even beat cape Verde.
He may have some exquisite coaching C.V but that does not take away the fact that he took us for a ride. He was hardly in the country, never watched the local league to identify new talent and as a result for all the time he was coach for Zambia only introduced two or three new players to the National team. Maybe his heart was not in it to coach Zambia but he certainly did not give it his all and certainly was not serious about the job. There is no team in the world that can accept for a coach to coach via satellite regardless of what C.V the coach has. Bonetti has no shame truth be told, he should hold his head in shame at the way he went about business as Zambia coach, instead he is busy trying to milk our FA. We do not want such a coach regardless of the accolades he has.

Funny an Ivorian friend of mine made exactly the same comment when I said to him HR was a big component to them winning Afcon 2015. He said they would have won it even without HR but when I asked him why then 23 years and nothing he had no answer.

Dario bonetti has won titles in European league. This so called Renard you are boot licking was chased from Sochaux he failed in europe only to come and ride on the talent of ivory Coast to build his cv. Ivory Coast has the best team in africa. The mighty Egyptians are no longer there to challenge them. When are you going to get it into your thick skulls that ivory Coast was bound to win that cup. Only Egypt and Nigeria could stop them and these 2 giants are experiencing problems that cup was there’s it didn’t matter who coached them. Ghana lost by being just unlucky. It was for Ghana. They outplayed the Ivorians. Yaya Toure was no match for the hard working midfield of Ghana. Gervonho was no show & the new Man City lad , Bony was ineffective .

Ivory Coast may not even be able to defend that cup in 2017. 2015 was meant for them but 2017 will be tough. If you look at Nigeria they won the u-17 world cup in 2013 expect them to be a serious contender. Ghana will be stronger in 2017 and Egypt won the u-20 caf cup in 2017. Cameroon is also rebuilding I smell a new champion in 2017. As long as we have poor administration and we aren’t winning junior competitions and hiring serious European coaches we are not going anywhere.
Just tell them to bring a credible coach through interviews not Kalusha’s friend and pay Bonneti because FAZ is not Kalusha’s company, it involves any Soccer loving Zambian including you Mwale.

We should discard the idea of winning trophies for now and build a formidable team. Uruguay won a trophy in 1966(World Cup) & now ranked 9th in the world. England got theirs in 1966 & ranked 12th. We won Afcon barely two years ago and we are ranked in the 60s. WHY? Take the case of Ghana without a cup in almost half a century. Can we compare ourselves to Ghana? NO. We tend to rush into things without a solid foundation. Under 17 & 20 squads should be our main focus now. In the interim if we win a cup , GOOD FOR US. If not, we have a plan – BUILDING A TEAM.
Not just win one cup and cannot win any Afcon game after that. GHANAS POSITION OF CUP DROUGHT APPEARS TO BE BETTER THAN OUR ONE-TIME SHOT.

One thing we seem to all accept is that Janza is an inferior coach who will require too much time to learn for him to acquire neccessary skills and experience for him to thrive.We are also not investing so much in the development of youth football but expecting too much of the final results. Bonnet and Renard are two different coaches who cannot be compared from one angle.
