Klings Kangwa impresses on debut

Chipolopolo midfielder Klings Kangwa made his debut for FK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) on Friday at the Stadion Stožice in Ljubljana and was in his impressive mode.

The Zambian international came-off the bench to replace Ohi Omoijuanfo at the start of the second half in Belgrade’s 2-1 friendly match win over Slovenia side NK Bravo.

Kangwa took to the new team and environment like a duck to water and controlled the match created a few chances for his teammates and impressing on his first day.

FK Crvena Zvezda came from a goal down to beat Bravo. Rishairo Živković scored a brace to secure a win for the Red and Whites first a well-taken curler outside the area to level matters and then a fine finish inside the box to secure a win late in the match.

Apart from the Happy Hearts product Belgrade welcomed Veljko Nikolić and Cristiano Piccini back from injuries and also saw Ibrahim Mustapha and Vladimir Lučić making their first appearances for the red and white.

The nimble footed midfielder was unveiled by the Serbian giants on Monday and has been handed jersey number 20.

The 22-year-old midfield genius is believed to have cost the Serbian giants €800,000 (over K14 million). Kangwa will start training today ahead of the kick-off of the new season in July.

The Zambian international has penned a 4 year contract with FK Crvena Zvezda from Russian outfit, Arsenal Tula.
