  1. THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has dispelled assertions from some quarters that it wants to manipulate the constitution to make Kalusha Bwalya life president.
FAZ has instead advised those who meet the qualification criterion to challenge Kalusha at next year’s elections, while reiterating the need to protect the association from being invaded by outsiders.
Committee member Pivoty Simwanza said the FAZ executive had never proposed that Kalusha should be installed as life president neither had any affiliate written to the association over the same subject.
Simwanza said in an interview in Ndola yesterday that the FAZ executive was surprised with the motive behind the talk of making Kalusha life president.

“No one has proposed Kalu as FAZ life president. We are surprised where this is coming from. Not even a single club has ever proposed or even hinted to Football House about the issue of life president,” he said.
Simwanza said in accordance with its constitution, FAZ holds elections every four years and that the trend would continue because there were no short-cuts in the association.
He said people should not misinterpret Nchanga Rangers’ proposal for an amendment to the statutes which intends to restrict people vying for the FAZ presidency and vice-president.
Rangers are proposing that only those football administrators who have served in the FAZ executive before should be eligible to contest the top two positions.
Simwanza said the FAZ council convening this weekend in Kabwe would deliberate over the Rangers’ proposal which intends to protect the association from ‘foreign’ invasion.
On Rangers’ other proposal for the introduction of nomination fees for candidates aspiring for various FAZ positions, Simwanza said it had become too costly for the association to hold the quadrennial elections, hence the need for the aspirants to pay.
Simwanza said the elections were always conducted by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) and that FAZ parts away with a lot of money to ensure all logistics were in place for a credible poll.
The FAZ official also said some of the people, who were attacking the association, were not members of the Zambian football family and that Football House does not deal with outsiders.
Simwanza said the football fraternity needed to know that statutes governing the sport were changing globally, starting from the soccer world motherbody, FIFA and continental authorities, CAF.

    • Way to go FAZ, don’t succumb to hopeless characters like the Rangers Chairman who knows nothing about Corporate Governance judging from his cadre way of putting across points on the issue.

      • Ba Uncle Bobs, don’t buy into this invasion nonsense. All FAZ affiliates should be allowed to stand for election. By reducing the pool of applicants to former executive members, Kalu and his cohorts are pretty much consolidating their hold on the office.

    • “….Simwanza said the FAZ council convening this weekend in Kabwe would deliberate over the Rangers’ proposal which intends to protect the association from ‘foreign’ invasion….”

The Association is funded using tax payer money, therefore any tax payer should be able to contest the FAZ Presidency.

  2. Sad Sinkala did not manage to hold down a spot at Grasshooper. Looks like the French league is the league that suited his type of play. I hope he can get something in the next window because a return to TP will not be progressive at all for the lad.

Looks like Evans Kangwa has settled well in Isreal. I just hope he does not have the “arrived” mentality and is still looking to clinch a big deal in Europe.

I still cant get over Sunzu moving to China. I was hoping this would be the player to open doors for other Zambian players since Mayuk is not cutting it in the EPL but alas…guess I was wrong.

  3. Zamfoot your information must be inaccurate. The winter transfer window is in January. The summer window is from June to August. Are you telling us that Sinkala will wait until next year to sort out his future?

  4. WAT CRITERIA WAS USED FOR K STARS TO REPRESENT ZAMBIA IN THE ON GOING U17 GAMES IN SOUTH AFRICA. THIS TEAM IS OWNED BY KALUSHA BWALYA THE FAZ CHIEF.

  5. My problem is not about ownership of a club but rather these are the kind of friendlies We need to expose our U17 NATIONAL TEAM to. Bearing in mind our lack of resources to organize high profile friendlies.2017 is not far, We need to start now for US TO SMILE in 2017.Sending a club where only 1 or two players will be selected to the national team is counter productive.

  6. Watching nigeria vs uganda live on ss9 friendly 23 mins still nil all, nigeria misd a clear chance inthe opening minutes wen the striker came face to face with the goal keeper. Good goal keeping by onyango, I see why Mweene has been relegated to the bench at sandowns.

  7. Michu knows better how to beat Nigeria and Ghana just like Renard knows how to deal with the BS. Michu almost wired Ghana in Tamale but was denyed a victory by the ref who awarded ghana a dubious penalty to equalise. But in return match in Kampala, it was a walk over.
This are the coaches we need in Zambia just as john said. Is Uganda FA better than ours or we are just broke for failing to have a better coach?

    • And then you will complain when they start flooding this site…why not wait for the result between Zambia and Rwanda before making such comments.

      • Paradox, its not about being a good boy. The issue is that when we have some Ghanaians and Nigerians who are good contributors, but those come with a select few who are hell bent on making everything an argument. We need a break mwe, nomba you have decided you want to invite these no-input “Zambia sucks…” individuals back onto the site. At the same time you will be the one getting upset that they are here.

  8. nobody asked where you are when south africa walloped you 5~2…by the way, whats the scoreline?
since you want to patronise local goods even when its rotten, why dont you maintain janza? uganda is currently better than zambia and they have invested in their football from coach to players whiles you fold your hand and accuse others instead of doing same,no wonder you desperately celebrate draws..they are engaging better teams whiles you are engaging minor teams because you want to draw.

  9. Zambia Is Goin Through A Buildin Process Equally Nigeria. To All Soccer Fans Let Support Our National Team And Rely Behind The Technical Bench. What Lackin To Our National Team Is Exposure And Tactical Approach To The Games.

  10. PATRICK NGOMA SET FOR FRANCE MOVE
Red Arrows and Zambia U-20 striker Patrick “Dude” Ngoma is set to seal a move to France, Zambian Football KICKOFF can exclusively reveal. Details of his move are concluded but managers and agents handling the matter have requested confidentiality and keeping the club name out of the press until the promising Zambia prospect flies out to put pen to paper. He is expected to leave in the coming week. His transfer to France follows a successful move to block a move to Israel which was being illegally engineered by a named agent.

    • I KNOW KALU HAS A CUT ON THIS ONE THATS THE REASON THE YOUNG MAN FEATURED IN ALL NATIONAL TEAM ASSIGNMENTS EXCEPT UNDER 17. THE BOY IS STILL RAW, HE SHOULD NOT BE SELFISH WHEN WITH THE BALL, TELL HIM TO IMPROVE NOT BE RUNNING AIMLESSLY . BEST WISHES
