Zambia U17 have arrived in Qatar ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup.
Zambia is in Group H along with Indonesia, Honduras and Brazil
Zambia will face Indonesia on Tuesda before taking on Honduras on Friday.
Brazil and Zambia will then clash on Monday in the final group match.
In the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup, 32 out of 48 teams will qualify from the group stage for the knockout rounds, which begin with the Round of 32. Teams then progress through single-elimination matches to the semi-finals.
Qualification from Group Stage
The tournament features an expanded format with 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four teams each.
Top two teams: The top two teams from each of the 12 groups (24 teams in total) automatically advance to the Round of 32.
Best third-placed teams: These 24 teams are joined by the eight best third-placed teams across all groups.
The ranking for the third-placed teams is determined by:
Greatest number of points obtained in all group matches.
Goal difference in all group matches.
Greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.
Highest team conduct score (fair play points).
Drawing of lots by FIFA, if necessary.
Route to the Semi-Finals
Once the 32 qualifying teams are determined, the tournament proceeds as a single-elimination bracket:
Round of 32: The 32 teams compete in single-leg knockout matches.
Round of 16: The 16 winners advance to the next round.
Quarter-finals: The eight winners play, and the four victors move on to the semi-finals.
Semi-finals: The four remaining teams compete for a spot in the final.
The two losing semi-finalists will play a third-place match, and the winners will compete in the Grand Final to determine the champion.
