Grace Chanda comes from the bench to rescue a vital point for Madrid CFF

Zambia Women’s national team forward Grace Chanda has continued her fine form in front for her Spanish Primera Division Femenina side, Madrid CFF.

The Copper Queens star came from the bench to rescue a point for Madrid in a Madrid derby away at the CD Wada Alcalá.

Chanda who netted a goal and set up another in the 4-0 win over Real Betis Féminas dropped to the bench as Tang Jiali took up her place.

Compatriot Rachel Kundananji started upfront leading the Madrid attack in what was expected to be a tough encounter.

It was the hosts who took the lead early on as Estefania Banini headed in a Sheila Garcia cross just ten minutes into the match to put Madrid in the lead.

The match went to the break with Atletico de Madrid in the lead and having had the lion share of possession.

Kundananji was withdrawn at the start of the second half and replaced by Grace Chanda.

Chanda only needed ten minutes to restore parity as she finished off a brilliant counter attack with a fine low shot to level matters off a Lucia Pardo through ball.

The heroine of the day however was Paola Ulloa who made crucial saves and denied Brazilian Ludmila a chance to extend her goal tally from 12 yards as Madrid CFF held on to hold Atletico de Madrid Femenino to a 1-1 draw.

Grace Chanda has now been involved in three goals scoring two and assisting one.

The draw means Madrid move up to 4th place while Atletico go second.

Next up for Kundananji and Grace Chanda is Granadilla Tenerife who they host at the Fernando Torres Stadion in a lunchtime kick-off.
