Freddy Micheals Leaves Zesco United for Egypt’s Ceramica Cleopatra

Ivorian striker Freddy Michael Kouablan has completed a move to Egyptian Premier League side Ceramica Cleopatra FC, ending his spell with Zesco United.

Kouablan joins the Egyptian outfit as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with the nine-time MTN Super League champions. Zesco United are now expected to move into the market to sign a replacement during the ongoing transfer window.

The forward returned to Zambian football after an unsuccessful stint with Tanzanian giants Simba SC, who had signed him from Green Eagles FC.

His move to Simba was driven by an outstanding goal-scoring run in Zambia, where he scored 14 goals in half a season [2023/24] for Green Eagles, making him one of the most lethal forwards in the league at the time.

Despite high expectations, Kouablan struggled to cement a regular place at Simba, prompting his return to Zambia where he later joined Zesco United.

During his time at Zesco, the Ivorian striker featured in domestic league matches and CAF interclub competitions, contributing with goals and experience as the Ndola giants competed on multiple fronts.

His move to Ceramica Cleopatra FC now offers Kouablan a fresh challenge in North Africa, with the Egyptian side strengthening their squad as they push for a strong finish in the league and cup competitions.
