Zambia Breweries under Carling Black Label have partnered with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) as a third-tier sponsor for the Zambia Super League.
Zambia Breweries have pumped in K3 million as a third-tier sponsor for the league while MTN remains the headline sponsor.
Zambia Breweries will also put in K250,000 ( $15,000 approx) into this season’s CHARITY SHIELD final between Champions, Red Arrows, and ABSA Cup winners Napsa Stars on August the 13th.
Zambia Breweries Cooperate affairs Director, Ezekiel Sekele said the company was excited to be part of the top flight league in Zambia.
“We are excited to be part of the MTN Super League for the 2022/2023 season. We have also come on board with support for the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu charity shield,” he said.
“Soccer is a way of empowering our youth and some of them have made a living from football, from humble beginnings to household names and these are stories we want to be part of. We would like to commend FAZ, the Ministry and other corporates like MTN that have been involved in soccer for a long and we are proud to embark on that journey with them as co-sponsors of the league as well sponsor of the Charity shield.”
“The idea is to elevate the league to even greater heights and be able to create pride in our own local league to the extent we see with the English Premier League,” he added.

FAZ President, Andrew Ndanga Kamanga urged the corporate world to come on board and emulate Zambian Breweries in sponsoring Zambian football.
“We are excited that Zambian Breweries is coming on board to provide another touch to this excitement. As you know the commencement of the league starts with the Charity shield, I am happy to announce that Zambian Breweries has given us a boost with the sponsorship of the Charity shield for this coming season. Zambian Breweries will pump in K250,000 in their debut sponsorship of the Charity shield which will be held on August 13th here in Lusaka,” he said.
“We are more excited that Zambian Breweries will come in as tier three under the Zambian Premier League (ZPL) for the avoidance of doubt, MTN will remain the headline sponsors of the Super League.”
“We urge other sponsors to utilize our open sponsorship policy so that our game can be given a huge boost. We also extend an invitation to the corporate world to sponsor our newly formed Women Super League. with the Copper Queens flying high, we have no doubt that the corporate bodies will see an opportunity in helping grow women football. The opportunity is ripe for the women’s game to graduate to the next level,” he added.
The Zambia football season will kick off on Saturday 13th August with a Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity shield tie between League winners Red Arrows and ABSA Cup winners NAPSA Stars.
The 2022/2023 Super League will kick off on 20th August 2022 with Champions, Red Arrows set to start their title defense against newcomers NAPSA Stars in a repeat of the 2022 ABSA Cup final.
