Zambian international Fashion Sakala, 23 is set to leave Belgium side Oostende this summer his handlers have told the ZamFoot Crew in Lusaka.
The former Nchanga Rangers and Zanaco winger cum striker has been in scintillating form this season in the Belgian Jupiter Pro League.
The boy from Kum’awa has scored 13 goals in 23 appearance for Oostende which has attracted interest from Steven Gerald’s Glasgow Rangers, West Ham United and Newcastle United.
With his contract running out in the summer, the Chipolopolo forward is free to sign a pre-contract with any of his suitors.
“Yes, it’s true Fashion [Sakala] will be a free agent in the summer,” One of his handlers told the ZamFoot Crew in Lusaka
“At the moment he is an Oostende player and wants to help the club qualify for Europe.
“Just like any player his dream is to reach the highest level and having grown up watching EPL [English Premier League], he will definitely consider that.
Earlier in the season, Oostende sporting director Gauthier Ganaye was upset with Sakala’s management team.
He told the club website: “We have made three to four offers since last summer.
“Fortunately, Fashion is in Oostende and I am convinced that he can take further steps under [manager] Alexander Blessin.
“I feel that his agent is not really respecting KV Oostende as he is no longer responding to our offers.”
Sakala, who joined the Belgian side from Russian side Spartak Moscow is one of the hottest players in the league.
The Chipolopolo forward has scored scored 8 goals in 10 appearances since the turn of the year.
Last season he scored 8 goals for Oostende.
He trekked to Russia after impressing at the 2016 Cosafa Cup U20 in South Africa in December.
In the last two transfer windows, Sakala with compatriots Patson Daka and Enoch Mwepu have all been linked with moves to England.
The trio have rose through the ranks having been spotted from the Airtel Rising Star to the Chris Kaunda coached Zambia Under-17.
They then graduated to the Zambia Under-20 which was coached by Beston Chambeshi. The ‘Dream Team’ claimed the 2017 CAF Under-20 on home soil before reaching the quarter finals in Korea later that year.
While Daka and Mwepu have cemented their places in the Chipolopolo, the jury is still out their for Sakala.
Chipolopolo Boys coach Micho will hope Sakala will transfer his club form to international as Zambia face Zimbabwe and Algeria in back to back African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
That’s our boy keep it up we are with you
Honestly, I feel Fashion, Mwepu and Daka shouldn’t rush to the EPL. The leagues they play for are not very competitive and they’ll need to adjust a lot to suit to the EPL. If anything, let them just remain where they are. Bakapwa!!!
Sadio Mane of Senegal played at Red Bull Salzburg before switching to the EPL
Fashion needs to work hard enough. The boy is very good but has potential to do better, if only he were not full of himself. Patson and Enock are ok. They are both successful but have stayed humble – that’s the difference!!
Keep raising the flag high.
Wel let them try to join EPL who knows maybe they will make it all there.
Peter ndlovu played in psl when he was only eighteen. The boys are ready let them go
Patson & Enock i feel are ready to play in any league. The years they have spent RBS has molded them. They hve played against Champion League Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Lazio.
Though the lost some of the games but Mwepu always stood out in most of these games in a ‘smaller market team.
Patson in the 2-2 draw friendly against Liverpool gave VVD and Gomez a problems and scored 2 goals.
Fashion has shown that he can make it but hasn’t been tested like P.D & E.M.
Sorry I meant to say Napoli and not Lazio….
Well done Fashion. My humble advice, British soccer is about playing as a team. Your antics of not releasing the ball when it is best to do so will see you on the bench and eventually looking for another team…you have been advised.
Zambian Superheroes , FS10 Fashion Sakala, .Enock Mwepu and Patson Daka ( the goals machine ) actually making moves to bigger clubs is what should happen because you guys are growing, so if you don’t move when talent is available then you will only waist your talent, It is God who has Blessed you, keep going guys as meaningful Zambian am owez proud of you
Well said Prince, shows you have 5 common senses
Pele’s comment is correct. Sakala open your eyes. Don’t be self centred you are playing for other prospecting Zambians
