Chipolopolo continue to fall on FIFA ladder

Zambia has continued it dismal showing on the FIFA Coca-Cola World rankings dropping a further three places to rank 91st in the world.

Despite not playing a match in the past month, Zambia’s unconvincing performances weighed heavily against the Chipolopolo as they were overtaken by Southern neighbours Botswana and Sierra Leone to rank 25th in Africa from 23rd in July.

With the Chipolopolo not having had a coach since the departure of Frenchman Herve Renard in 2013, Zambia has struggled for consistency and will now miss out at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament for the first time since 2004.

Algeria continues to lead the African ranking while Ghana have moved into second position after overtaking Ivory Coast.
