Chimwemwe Mwale made over five good saves to keep Arrows in the game against ZESCO Ndola girls while veteran Tukiya Mufishi scored the all important goal and had a good game all round hence they find their way into the ZamFoot best XI for week 12 of the ZPL Women’s Super League.
Week 12 of the ZPL Women’s Super League was a weekend filled with amazing action from big wins by Indeni Roses, Green Buffaloes and Trident Queens to Arrows holding ZESCO Ndola Girls away at Trade Fair, it was a rollercoaster of a weekend.
The ZamFoot Crew now looks at the players who impressed with outstanding performances for their teams.
GK: Chimwemwe Mwale (Red Arrows Women) – Easily her best performance of the season. Chimwemwe kept the Airwomen in the game against ZESCO Ndola Girls making save after save.
Mwale kept the Daniel Sibande coached outfit in the game long enough for Mary Mambwe to rescue a point at the death with one of the best goals scored over the weekend.
LCB; Justina Zulu ( ZANACO Ladies)- Justina Zulu has made herself an invaluable member of the ZANACO Ladies backline and she was again in the thick of things helping the team in their 2-1 win over Konkola Blades Queens.
CB: Beatrice Mwale ( Nkwazi Queens) – A solid performance by the Nkwazi Queens defender and helped the team keep a clean sheet in their 1-0 shock win over Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles away in Kitwe.
RCB: Sante Mukwata ( Green Eagles) – The former Queens Academy defender was solid and made sure she thwarted any attack YASA Queens conjured up at Bank of Zambia.
She was vital for the clean sheet that Eagles managed against YASA Queens.
DMF: Eunice Bwalya (YASA Queens)- YASA Queens may have lost the match but Eunice Bwalya continues to be a star of the show. Her composure and control of the midfield was simply amazing.
Her long range passing and calmness on the ball set her apart and she dominated the midfield against Eagles.
CM:Blessings Zangose Zulu ( ZANACO) – In the absence of Regina Chanda, The former Zambia U17 National team captain came to the party scoring a first half brace.
Zangose was always a threat for Konkola Blades Queens and had a very good game overall as ZANACO Ladies cruised to a 2-1 win away in Chililabombwe.
CM; Maweta Chilenga ( Green Buffaloes) – The female Ronaldinho, was in her element on Sunday as Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club thrashed Amazing Grace 7-1.
She scored a goal and assisted two in the big win. Her link up play with Evarine Susan Katongo and Natasha Nanyangwe was also a thing of beauty.
AMF; Agness Phiri ( Green Buffaloes) – Agness Phiri came off the bench to score a hat-trick and lead Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club to a big 7-1 win over Amazing Grace.
The three goals were all well taken and her game overall was just impressive, she also assisted another goal.
LW; Grace ‘Pogba’ Phiri ( Indeni Roses)- The Zambia U17 National team striker helped Indeni Roses to a 6-0 win over ZISD Women.
She scored a brace and her pressing came in handy for the Oilo Ladies at Independence Stadium.
RW:Tukiya Mufishi ( National Assembly) – Despite all the names on the pitch at Nationalist Stadium on Saturday it was veteran Tukiya Mufishi who had the best match of her season. She gave Nchanga Rangers Queens a tough time.
Mufishi also scored the only goal of the match to give Assembly only their second win of the season.
CF: Agness Musele ( Trident Queens) – Musele scored a brace to help Trident Queens to a 6-1 win over Chipata Girls at Sentinel Ground on Sunday.
