Chilufya, Mwanambaba join Zanaco

Super Division side Zanaco are working on bringing to Sunset Stadium defence kingpin George Chilufya and tough tackling White Mwanambaba to seal the loop holes in their defense.

Chilufya who has been key in the Nchanga Rangers defence is expected to move to Zanaco before the close of the transfer window.

Mwanambaba made his name at Kabwe Warriors before he made a move to Napsa Stars last season where he had a successful season with pensioners when they conceded the least goals in the league is on the books of Power Dynamos but has failed to make a mark at the Kitwe side.

“George and White have already joined us,we’ll finalise everything before the close of the transfer window,” Club Chairman Edward Mutale said.

We’ve also brought in Knowledge Moyo an attacking midfielder from Zimbabwe to be assessed by the technical bench.”

Zanaco coach Numba Mumamba had said earlier that he was only needing reinforcement in defence, which he said was the major area of concern despite having Andrew Kwiliko, Ziyo Tembo and Peter Banda in central defence.

Zanaco were also looking at signing Chris Munthali from Power Dynamos but the deal fell through.

In other news, Zanaco yesterday appointed former Chipolopolo midfileder Dabid Chilufya as assistant coach to take over from Wilson Mwale who has moved to Napsa Stars. Chilufya joins Zanaco from Zesco where he was assistant.
