Copper Queens Coach Häptule’s 4 Month Dues Settled; Grant’s Nine Month Arrears Partly Settled

In a major breakthrough, Zambia Women’s National Team Coach Nora Häptule and her assistants have received their outstanding dues amounting to around $40,000.

Following this settlement, Nora and her team have been agreed to withdraw their complaint filed in February 2025 with FIFA against the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) due to the former leadership’s failure to honor contractual obligations.

Zambia Men’s National Team Head Coach Avram Grant has also received $50,000 as part payment of his overdue salary accrued over a period of about nine months.

The Zambian government has also committed to honouring its winning bonus obligations for the Copper Queens & men’s national team as outlined in the MoU between FAZ & the Ministry of Sports.

  1. Hmmmmmm, ba Zed, fyakuifwaila. Why do u have to hire expensive bazungu coaches when u know u have no substance to pay them. Stick to our local coaches who are cheaper and u will nt regret. The performance of our teams is the same with the bazungu coaches and our own. It’s just time and support.

  2. Inferiority complex.
They think this Nora is better than Mr. Bruce Mwape.
Infact, this team is not playing as good as they used to, when they were with Mr. Bruce Mwape.

    • Well we enjoy Norah’s style of play and coaching. It appears the players do too.

We are TIRED of no system / style of play and passive local coaching displayed in that capacity previously. Heavily reliant on individual brilliance with no technical display.

Probably the BEST decision that the Kamanga administration made in their tenure.

Now we can see our star players being team players & not individual glory hunters.

  3. Indeed some of us are over patriotic. Nothing against local coaches but at Wafcon I am seeing some improvement in tour women’s game. Before Norah we had a team full of talent and hard work. Now the new coach has instilled maturity and better coordination, coupled with adding of the game. Copper queens can only get better!

  4. I have no issue with whose coach because I attribute the success of a team to 95% player input and 5% coach.if you have quality players performance is good. If you don’t there isn’t much the coach can do.Now having watched the three games I tell you the 2022 team movements from behind to front flowed with neat passes.i am yet to see that in this tournament.
