Burundi ready for Copper Princesses

Burundi say they have prepared well for their Zambian counterparts ahead of Saturday’s second round, second leg FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier in Ndola.

Zambia carries a 2-1 first leg advantage with a place in the third round at stake when the two sides face off tomorrow.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Gishikizo Jean Pierre, the Technical Director of all junior Burundi teams, said that having seen Zambia’s quality, they had since prepared well for the tough challenge.

“We understand that Zambia is physically and technically good, but we have equally prepared to face them. You will see at the end of the match what we have put in place. We are ready to match Zambia’s quality,” he said.

The two sides will be battling for a third round place over two legs with both teams chasing debut FIFA World Cup appearances.

Winner over two legs will face Uganda in the third round with yet another round to wind up the qualifiers.
