Arrows woes go beyond just Janza

On Friday, February 16th on the morning the Zambia Air Force Commander Lt Gen Eric Chimese directed Red Arrows players to compete for silverware in the 2018 FAZ Super League two days before their departure for Spain were they had scheduled a pre-season training camp.

Fourteen games later the team is 13th on the log with only 15 points accumulated. With only three wins recorded Coach Honor Janza is on the hot seat with main sympathizers of the Airmen feeling enough is enough and Janza has to go but is Janza the problem at Nkoloma Stadium? .

Maybe not, The former Chipolopolo boss is just a part of a much larger problem at the home of the Airmen. In as much coaches ate blamed for everything that goes wrong with a club but can you blame a coach for lack of quality players at his disposal?.

PLAYERS

In as much as they signed a number of new players which seems to be a bone of contention for many Airmen sympathizers who feel it’s time Janza said goodbye.

The trick part about buying players is that it’s not just buying but buying quality players who can add value. Did Red Arrows get the best players available? of course not. Dan Sibande is now past his prime (age wise though he still has the football touch now age restrains) but he starts which says alot about the players available for Janza. Another question were those players bought by Janza or they were just given to him? .

MISPLACED PRIORITIES
A trip to Spain sounds inviting and to be honest something to applaud but it came at the wrong time. It was obviously a big motivation for the players who went and had a test of the European system and standard.

But could it have not been wise to invest more in getting the right ‘quality’ players to Nkoloma and then plan the Spain trip later?. With the mid-season transfer opening soon, The management Arrows should seriously consider getting some top notch players if their hopes of winning the League have to get an realistic chances of coming true.

MOTIVATION

Motivation is key part of modern day football and as for the Red Arrows set up players aim to join the Zambia Air Force and after that they have nothing to aim for. Management needs to find new ways of motivating Players to keep them on their toes working hard for the team.

CONSERVATIVE JANZA

Janza can also share a piece of pizza called Problems at Arrows. He has a number of youngsters at his disposal that he can utilize who are hungry for glory but he seems to be waiting for ‘signal’ from where actually no one knows.

Joseph Phiri, The former Zambia U20 national team striker has been banging in the goals for Arrows, Why not use more young players who of course have to prove themselves . They are hungry for success and can give the senior players competition. Janza has been known as a pro young talent coach what’s changed? Lameck Banda at Zesco United is doing wonders as young as he is.

It’s not one factor that has caused the bad patch Red Arrows is going through but a number of them. They need to be addressed as such if the team is to maintain it’s Super League spot and pose a serious challenge for the title.
